Restore a Deleted Site Collection in SharePoint 2010 SP1
The recent release of Service Pack 1 for SharePoint 2010 included the Site Recycle Bin for restoring deleted sites. However, what if you deleted a whole Site Collection? Well, Service Pack 1 comes packaged with 3 new PowerShell commands to handle just that:

Shutting Down the Mobile Redirect for SharePoint 2010 Websites
Have you created a public facing SharePoint website, but every time you try to visit the site on a mobile phone you get a login security prompt? This issue occurs because the SharePoint Site reads your user agent on your cellphone as a mobile browser and redirects your phone to the mobile version of the website. Your site allows for anonymous users, but that access only seems to be allowed when using a web browser on a desktop computer. That’s because the SharePoint 2010 mobile site only works with authenticated users, therefore not allowing anonymous users to visit.

External Tagging in SharePoint 2010
The ability to tag and take notes on an object within SharePoint 2010 has been highly publicized by Microsoft and various outlets. However, did you know that you can also tag and note sites outside of SharePoint? Say that article on your local newspapers website that was just pushed about the company, or a website used to source information in a research document. Once a site has been externally tagged, it will display in your activity feed for your colleagues or other people tracking your activities to view. Although, you do have the option, should you choose, to make the tag private to you. Let’s look at just how easy it is to start tagging external sites:

Microsoft Office & SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 1 Released Today
Today Microsoft announced the release of both Office and SharePoint Service Pack 1. This was released alongside Office 365. SP1 is available for both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Office 2010 and 64-bit for SharePoint 2010. SP1 includes the rollup of all previously released security and non-security related fixes.
